General
What is rydlnk?
rydlnk is a scheduled rideshare platform for daily commuters. We match riders with similar routes and times, group them together, and connect them with a driver. Everyone splits the fare and saves money.
How is rydlnk different from Uber or Lyft?
rydlnk is built for people with regular commutes, not one-off trips. We group multiple riders heading the same direction, so you split the fare and save up to 50%. You set your schedule once and get matched with other commuters automatically.
Where does rydlnk operate?
We're launching in Utah Valley, covering areas including Provo, Orem, Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Springville, Spanish Fork, and surrounding communities. We plan to expand to other areas in the future.
When will rydlnk launch?
We're currently in development and will be launching soon. Sign up for early access to be notified when we launch in your area.
When is rydlnk a good choice?
rydlnk is perfect anytime you want to schedule a ride ahead of time and lock in your price. No surge pricing, no surprises. Great for daily commutes to work or school, weekly grocery runs, regular gym visits, or any recurring trip where you want predictable pricing and reliable pickups.
For Riders
How much does it cost to ride?
Costs depend on your route distance and how many riders are sharing the trip. By splitting rides with other commuters, you can save up to 50% compared to riding solo.
How does matching work?
You set your schedule - where you're going and when. We find other riders with similar routes and times, group you together, and a driver picks up the group. The more riders sharing, the more everyone saves.
How do I pay?
We use Stripe for secure payments. You're charged every Saturday night for the following week's rides (Monday through Sunday). If you schedule a ride mid-week, you're charged right away for that ride. It's simple and predictable.
What if no driver is available?
If no driver has claimed your ride 3 hours before departure, the ride is automatically cancelled and you receive a full credit refund. We'll also give you a one-time $5 credit for the inconvenience.
For Drivers
How much can I earn?
Drivers keep 75% of net fares after platform costs. Earnings depend on route distance, number of riders, and how often you drive. A typical 10-mile trip with 2-3 riders can earn $12-14.
How do I get rides?
When riders are grouped together for a trip, drivers can see and accept available rides. You choose which rides to take based on your own schedule - no obligation to accept every request.
What are the requirements to drive?
You need a valid driver's license, a vehicle in good condition, auto insurance, a clean driving record, pass a background check (we use Checkr, the same platform as Uber and Lyft), and a smartphone to use the rydlnk app.
When do I get paid?
Drivers are paid weekly via Stripe. Your earnings from the previous week are deposited directly to your bank account.
Pricing & Billing
How does billing work?
You're charged every Saturday at 11:59 PM for the following week's rides (Monday through Sunday). If you schedule a ride after Saturday's charge has already run, you're charged immediately for that ride. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
Can my ride price go up?
Never. Once you're quoted a price, it can only go down — never up. As more riders join your route, the fare is split further and you receive a credit for the difference. We call this our price lock guarantee.
What happens if I cancel a ride?
If you cancel before you've been charged (the ride is in a future billing cycle), you get a full credit refund. If you cancel after being charged, you receive a credit refund for the platform fee. The driver's portion may be held to keep prices stable for other riders sharing your ride — but if the ride ends up being fully cancelled, you get that back too.
What if my payment fails?
We retry your payment up to 3 times: Saturday night, Sunday morning, and Sunday night. You'll get a push notification each time so you can update your payment method. If all 3 attempts fail, your rides for the upcoming week are cancelled.
Safety & Trust
How do you verify users?
All users verify their phone number to create an account. Drivers go through an additional verification process including background checks and driving history review.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We only share the information necessary for your ride. Your exact home address is never shared with other users - only pickup points are shown.
Can I contact my driver/riders before the ride?
Yes! Once a ride is confirmed, you can message your driver and other riders through the app to coordinate details.
